I have a pretty basic 3570k, P8Z77, GTX 670 setup. I'm having some trouble with the live CD. It's 12.04, I ordered it from canonical, and it works fine on my laptop, so it's not the media.
When I start it up, I'll get the purple loading screen, then the black screen with the cursor for a while, then it goes all pink with little glitches everywhere. Can get a picture if needed.
I've tried going into that menu and adding nomodeset, nosplash and noquiet but it ends up the same. Same issue with my old 11.10 disc, except it goes light blue with stripes.
This seems to be specific to Ubuntu, as I can get into some other distros fairly hassle free (no offense.)
Edit: And same problem with 12.04 on usb. Edit#2: 12.10 gives me some messages about kvm and other stuff but the live session otherwise works fine.
