[all variants] My Ubuntu 13.10 installation won't boot (blank screen)

Hello,

I'm new to Ubuntu and just installed Ubuntu 13.10, however it won't boot and only a blank screen. After using boot-repair, now I get the boot menu. Select the 1st (i.e. default) entry still a blank screen. However, select advanced and go into rescue mode can get me to the initramfs prompt. Don't know if this is grub problem or not.
