Hi,
I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12 on my system however I cannot help but observe while reading about it that there are a lot of services and applications that I would not have any use for.
My questions are :
How to know exactly what is installed (services, protocols, applications etc) and the purposes these installations serve.
How to permanently remove all traces of what I feel is not required (without breaking the system) and other unneeded things.
I like to have the bare minimum installed on the system and that also only if I feel it is required.
Hope someone can help me by posting all the commands.
