i downloaded the program xmrig from the ubuntu software archive. problem is i can't figure out how to turn it on, i figured there would be an icon at least so i could read the help file. i've only just recently started using linux regularly (for about 6 weeks maybe), i printed out hundreds of pages (even ran out of ink and ordered more). so that will tell you why finding whatever directory they talk about in the forums and the net is pretty much leaving me scratching my head. i've got an awful lot of pages open right now, but it's not helping.
books and paper documents, i learn quickly, but the net has so many distracting elements that i'm having difficulty. i don't know how to describe how i learn information, but everything crammed onto a page doesn't work. i had trouble reading the paper and went back to actual paper in order to retain what i read. for the purposes of learning, i find the net distractions annoying at best. the links to other pages in the middle of what i'm reading, the flashing ads trying to get my attention; even if i don't click on them, their presence is a distraction. i miss the old days when references were listed at the end of a paper.
