I have a "cobbled-together" Desktop that I built - basically a Gigabytes mainboard, AMD64 processor, 4Gb of mem, 1 TB WD-blue HD and the requisite DVD sata drive.
So I've installed Ubuntu 13.04 on it (I cannot YET afford a new Win-8), added Gnome, and done all the Canonical updates, and still a few problems remain.
:confused:1. The network is connected via a Cisco USB2 802-11n that I had lying around. So far, I havent tried connecting via the ethernet yet.
When I boot the system, it does not detect the network USB device.
I have to unplug it and then replug it back into the USB port, and then the dongle is detected and the wifi comes alive.
Any ideas on how to get the system to detect this USB device after booting?
2. A few other problems- I'll list them later!
I already have Win-8, Win-7 and Ubuntu 12.04 dual-booting on a couple of other desktops and a laptop. All OK there...
Thanx.
