Hi,
I tried to install Ubuntu 12.04.02 using a LiveUSB. After selecting Install Ubuntu alongside Windows XP and click continue, it prompted me the partition size divider and I just left it as default and the partitioning process was then taking place. After running for about 1 hour, it prompted me partitioning failed and then automatically run Ubuntu from the LiveUSB. Then I restarted my Laptop and it prompted me the options Safe Mode, Safe Mode With Networking, Start Last Known Good Configuration and Start Normal, none of these options was successful, every time after the loading process of the Mup.sys, my Windows XP kept restarting, I could no longer access back to Windows XP. Also, I noticed that 12GB of free spaces were gone from the partition C after the partitioning failed (18 GB free spaces before partitioning failed).
What's worse, I don't have the Windows XP Recovery CD with me right now. I tried the Boot Repair with recommended settings but problems persisted. Below is the generated boot info. I was tempted to install Ubuntu after reading so many articles praising its attractive design, ease of use & installation. Such an unthoughtful action had left me in the dark now. Ubuntu wasn't installed, partition was damaged and WinXP was inaccessible meanwhile I'm having a lot of issues to be setttled under WinXP urgently, kindly please help. Thank You.
