[ubuntu] Install issue epson scanner 12.04.1

I have an Epson V30 Perfection scanner installed on Ubuntu 10.04 that works fine.
I have been unable to install it on 12.04.1. Not sure of changes in 12.04.1 that could cause the issue.

Will appreciate thoughts if you have done this
