My new laptop (Compaq CQ45) comes preinstalled with Windows 8.
I've managed to disable Secure Boot and to access the Grub menu from the live CD. Upon clicking "Try Ubuntu" (With added parameter nomodeset), it seems to start just fine. The problem is that about 30 seconds through the splash screen freezes.
What could be the problem? Thanks.
