I just learned that the HP Envy 14 is supposedly impossible to support ubuntu, because of the dual graphic cards. Well I was just screwing around with mine (which runs off of ubuntu 12.04) and I happened to turn in on and hear the drumming indicator, and i for some odd reason just happened to press to "increase brightness" button and the screen showed up and the guest account works, but I forgot the main password. So anyways, just press the brightness button for it to show up.
